September 20, 2008 - Santa Clarita Walk-A-Thon
Join Hunger Defense Fund for our September 20, 2008 Walk-A-Thon. It's an event that you won't want to miss. We are walking to raise money for the hungry people around us. Sign-ups will take place in the Kmart shopping center at the corner of Bouquet and Soledad Canyon,between 8:30 and 9:30AM. We hope to see you there!

November 2008 - Thanksgiving Turkeys for Needy Families
Our goal is to provide a turkey for every family we serve. If you would like to help us reach this goal, click on the online donation button below. In the “Comments” box please enter “Please apply online donation to Thanksgiving Turkey program”.

November 10 through December 12, 2008 - Adopt a Family
Provide holiday gifts for the children of a local needy family. If you would like to share the holiday season with a local family in need, please call our Santa Clarita, California office at 661-299-9273 to adopt a family.

December 2008 – Holiday Hams for Needy Families

Love and Life Center

Hunger Defense Fund operates the Love and Life Center in Honduras. This center houses children suffering from cancer. Their shelter, food and clothing are provided, as well as six months to a full year of chemotherapy treatments.

Many of the children leave the center after successfully completing their round of chemotherapy and some stay, due to abandonment by their parents.

Hunger Defense Fund appreciates the dedicated volunteers and monetary donations that help keep our Love and Life Center running.

Iowa Flood – More Relief Needed

Extreme weather conditions have left Iowa in ruins. Floods damaged nearly all Iowa counties and affected more than 11 million people.

It's the worst flooding seen in the area for more than fifteen years and the people of Iowa desperately need our support.

Hunger Defense Fund has been sending food and hygiene products to the devastated region and we could use further assistance to continue our relief efforts. Please help us send more supplies to Iowa, by donating today. Thank you!
